Experience® Cabernet Sauvignon

VINTAGE

The 2019 harvest season was phenomenal, for both the grapes and the vineyard workers. After New Years Day, a couple storms passed through the Napa Valley bringing close to 10” of rain over a two-week period. A sense of normality had returned to the valley, and growers knew that it was going to be another strong season for the vineyards. Building on the earlier season moisture, the soil profile became fully saturated, and the spring vines were ready for another great year. In the summer, a few days broke triple digits, but most were spent with blue skies in the mid-80s to low 90s, absolutely ideal weather for ripe flavors while maintaining bright acidity.

WINEMAKING
This 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards in Rutherford, Oak Knoll District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, and Diamond Mountain AVAs. 17% of the wine is barrel-fermented and barrel-aged in new French Oak, while the balance was fermented traditionally in stainless steel tanks then moved to French neutral oak for balance.

TASTING NOTES
Intense ruby in color, this Cabernet opens with a lovely bouquet of forward fruit, soft notes of oak from the barrel fermentation, some anise and a hint of mocha. Ripe black fruit unfolds on the palate offering cassis, blackberry and black cherry. The finish is long and lingering with a smooth rich texture.
